It’s Elder Abuse, nothing less.
Dr. Jill is the pushy stage mother. Joe’s campaign aides don’t seem interested in helping him make a good video, or even to put a mask on properly. Where are all those tech savvy 25 y/o interns who would love a chance to work on a national campaign? Why can’t they do any better video production?
Somebody with authority has made a decision to let Joe keep going as is, until he falls flat on his face figuratively speaking, of course. It seems rather cruel to me.
I honestly don’t feel any sympathy (I keep going back to his characterization of the guy who his wife pulled out in front of and was killed with his child as someone who “drank his lunch” even though he knows it isn’t true) but I do feel some anger at his family for putting him in that situation.
I fully appreciate your characterization of his wife as a “pushy stage mother”. That sure does fit.
