Multiple fights broke out across Daytona Beach during Memorial Day weekend resulting in a shooting incident that injured six people, but no arrests have been made. The Daytona Police Department and the Volusia County Sheriff Office led a joint effort to deescalate many of the different incidents, but said during Sunday press conference that there were 'no major fights.' But several videos shared across social media show the opposite, with large crowds of both men and women involved in tussles.

Red Sky has always been consistent for us and we come down here a lot. They own another across the street called NC Coast on the sound. One of my new favorites
Wrightsville Beach is nice and youve got Wilmington right over the bridge for even more restaurants, microbreweries and such. Parkings an issue if you want to hit any of the places in the little downtown section of Wrightsville on the barrier island, though. Youd want to rent a house within walking distance or have bicycles. The water there is very blue.
Good to hear, Ill make a point of going back next time Im up in Carova Beach. Im fond of the 4x4 area with the wild horses running loose. Its so wild, but theres Corolla just a 3 mile drive down the beach, and Duck just below that. Have your cake and eat it too, if you have a 4wd vehicle and love the more remote feeling beaches.
Wrightsville and Wilmington are really nice! We’re going to Oak Island for a week in August. Our 2nd trip there and love it. Locals are awesome
Extended family had a place down on the point in the Long Beach section of Oak Island, more of a fishing shack really but we loved it, spent many a week there as a child. Very different then, just one restaurant, the Red Dot variety store and an ABC store. Everybody had a beach jalopy then, take an old 40s or 50s sedan, take the doors off, cut the wheel wells out for oversized tires, paint it gaudy colors to match your beach house and go riding up and down the beach as well as back in the then extensive dunes. I remember actually looking for beached Portuguese Man OWar jellyfish that had swollen up in the sun. Great fun to a young boy to run over them since they would audibly pop. That old place got wiped out along with the entire point as it existed then in a storm, early 70s. The pilings were visible for years out in the inlet. Fun times, too bad but those barrier islands are just glorified sandbars. They move, new inlets cut, old ones filled in. Guess thats why nobody used to build anything really elaborate or expensive way back when. They knew itd be taken by a storm sooner or later.
The only bad thing was no Internet so I couldn’t work. They hadn’t turned it on since the flood.
Ouch. You couldnt buy some extra bandwidth on your cell phone plan and use it as a hotspot? Ive had to do that up in Carova if I couldnt find a place on the southern side in the Swan Beach section. The internet sucks there at best, it bogs down badly when everybody gets online. My work is graphics heavy with a lot of uploading and downloading.
There was the killing near Hilton Head, a young black man demanded an old white man’s truck, shot him 8 times, and was just acquitted of murder, because he hadn’t intended to kill him.
So Hilton Head’s great, don’t drive in.
