He did speak to the police, tried to tell them they were killing the suspect, but ultimately just had to watch the homicide go down ... a slow painful squeezing of the life out of a man on the ground, lasting almost 10 minutes.
The witness was very, very shaken ... in part, I think, because he didn't jump in physically and stop the killing ... but what can you do? If he had SAVED the suspect, he would have personally been arrested and incarcerated, or possibly killed ... and no one would have ever believed he had prevented a murder.
I tried to explain this one to my daughter ... not easy ... I pointed out there are millions of arrests each year and almost a million cops in the USA. Shitz gonna happen now and then. There are sociopaths in all walks of life and a few carry badges.
The other cops who stood and watched are guilty too.
