My great-uncle, 1st LT Albert Jacob Johnson, KIA 5/24/45 in Burma.

Albert, the son of two Swedish immigrants, played for the Green Bay Packers for a time. He was doing some sort of football camp in Hawaii when Pearl Harbor was bombed. He left his football career, joined the Army Air Corps and became a fighter pilot. I don’t know how to post a pic, otherwise I would accompany this post with a pic.

All who served had some form of support be it parents and relatives, Rosey the riveter, old farmers, etc. Americans, the real one gave, some gave and some gave all. God Bless all of them, us, and those that remember. For our fallen, RIP. Lest We Forget.
