Excellent young man.
I invite you to review my earlier post (#25) on this thread
Thanks for your work and thanks to all posters.
Home and painting the basement. well...cleaning the walls with bleach and water first...just in case there’s any unseen mold. Then it’s 2 coats of Kilz.
Just a little break to say ‘hi’ while my eyes stop burning ;-p
Howdy
My paternal grandfather was a junior officer on the USS New York (BB-34).
I had three uncles at Guadalcanal, one onshore and two offshore. My dad and his twin brother were on their way to be landing craft drivers in the invasion of Japan when the war ended.
Fortunately, everyone came home safely. We VERY much appreciate the fact that so many didn't come home at all.

FROM RANSOMNOTE:
PSA: I will be in LurQ mode while working on a project. After I post the new thread, I won’t have time to read or reply to thread posts. If I’m seen on thread, I’m either sneakin’ a break I shouldn’t take or guiding emergency crews to specified intervention sites. I hate to miss a moment but I must ketchup on key projects.
As always, I will be standing by with the usual fire crew, cherry picker, life raft, CH-53 Sea Stallion and Spec Ops extraction team should problems arise. I will periodically check email and post Q drop Pings when I can.
I know the thread is in good hands.

LATEST ON THE PIER 45 FIRE...
Fireboat St. Francis was put in position to protect the historic SS Jeremiah O’Brien ship built during World War II, and it successfully saved the ship from damage, said Jonathan Baxter, the department’s spokesman.
My dad was older when I was born and served in WWI. He served in France with a combat engineering unit. I don’t know which division, but he trained at Ft Dix when it was Camp Dix.

Technically, Garfield wasn’t President when he made that speech. He was Speaker of the House.
“Author, Author, always Author”
You are right, of course. It was indeed John McCrae.
