They actually do contact tracing for HIV, tuberculosis, Ebola, and other diseases. It’s been standard practice for decades. This isn’t new for COVID-19 and it isn’t specific to the United States. South Korea began an aggressive campaign of contact tracing and quarantine to compliment their blanket testing early on.
