I got accepted to UCSB only because I did well on the SAT—my h.s. grads were city college level. I remember that we had a special assembly and were told that 1 out of 3 of us would not make it to graduation. Anyway, in spite of all expectations, I graduated in 4 years.

No doubt the fact that blacks/latinos don’t fare well on it is due to racism. But why do filipinos so well? Wait, why aren’t they counted as ‘Asian’?

Because if they'd been grouped with Asians as they should have been, it would have been obvious that the issue with the tests is solely among black and Hispanic students.
