Yesterday I was at a supermarket near me, and it also has aisles designated as one-way. I was at the wrong end of the aisle, but what I wanted in that aisle was much nearer to where I was than if I’d gone around to the other end. There was no one else in the aisle, so I took a chance and went in from the “wrong” way. I half-expected to be pounced on, but fortunately nothing happened.
We have those one-way signs at our Walmart in TN. Everybody laughs at them — even the masked creatures. Nobody pays attention to them.
The stupid thing is that, if you went down the “correct” aisle and came back into the aisle with the product you wanted, you would probably pass a LOT more people than if you just dashed down the “wrong way” to grab it.
I’m elderly and crippled. and still I have to walk all the way up an aisle I don’t need to get on the frozen food aisle.
