Try as I may, I cannot delete a bookmark from my sidebar. Also is there a help file?
What Operating System (OS) and version?
If you’re using Chrome, that’s likely the problem in itself. Google is a wonderful tool. I searched this: “cannot delete a bookmark from my sidebar” Here’s what popped up:
https://support.google.com/chrome/thread/2310908?hl=en
Oh, and I’d never use Chrome for any reason. Firefox for me since I suck at Unix and sadly must have a windows machine.
Android, Samsung tablet, Firefox.
Already deleted from firefox. It’s the Freepers sidebar I’m referring to.
Do the bookmarks remain after you logout and clear your history and cookies, close and restart your browser?
Try going to:
Account -> My Profile -> Links
Then click on “You can edit this page”. Select one or more of the links, then “Remove Selected Links”.
If you don’t want the Bookmarks sidebar to show at all, then on the FreeRepublic home page, click on “Configure Sidebar”, scroll to find Bookmarks, then change to “Disabled”.
account/manage blocks
“Its the Freepers sidebar Im referring to.”
Not your sidebar, then.
I need to delete it first in order to refresh the history and cache. Can’t delete it.
I like the bookmark feature, but I need to remove the ones I’ve viewed.
Simply refreshing the page doesn’t do anything without deleting the link.
Didn’t work, don’t need to edit my homepage, there is nothing there in regards to bookmarks.
Nope. No worky.
Nope
the book marks themselves are under links in your homepage, you add them to the sidebar under account/manage blocks.
remove the link in your homepage.
Thx...I need to delete some bookmarks too...and rename some...nothing so far on this thread works
I just did it, go to your homepage, look at links (it’s at the top) and remove the links.
I had a dead link for freedominion on my home page, I didnt even remember it was there till I just turned on bookmarks under account/manage blocks.
Now it is gone.
Yes, this is what I was trying to explain in post 7.
Harder to explain without pictures.
Yes
