Pets are different than people. They can’t betray you. Cheat on you. Take you to court. Say a bad word against you. They don’t plot to murder you. They don’t pit or play your kids against you.
We don’t lock our houses and cars because we’re afraid pets/animals are going to come after us.

How about bears or bison? I lock my car in parks. Was attacked once by a black bear while camping, it was not fun.
