Yes, I like the rooks personally. Just a preference. Rooks look cool and they dont dont have their noses in the air lol

I feel similarly about rooks.
However, regular western chess & regular Chinese chess are far more mental work than I enjoy at my age.
I greatly prefer the half game of Chinese chess played with small plastic discs turned face down randomly on the board. I prefer the Peng-hu rules of that game. It’s complex enough to be interesting & enjoyable without being a lot of hard mental work thinking 10 moves ahead as in regular chess.

Not very familiar with that chess. I started playing when I was about 11 or 12 and finally beat my Dad at 15.
