If JC Penney can do it, and Sears can do it, and many other companies can do it,
why not the states and federal governments.
Have Trump take the federal government into Chapter 11 bankruptcy (which will allow the elimination of millions of federal worker jobs and agencies/departments, and the trillions in freebies/giveaways), and led the creditors get back only pennies on the dollar, and ...
VOILA! The federal debt disappears or dwindles to a meaningless few billion dollars.
They’ve been on the ropes for at least 5 years.
JC Penney is the last surviving original store from when my local mall opened in 1978. Sears closed a year and a half ago.
So kind of sad.
But -— they did go gay so....
I could care less...
Sad. I used to work for JCP back in 70’s for a year or so.
Once upon a time JCP was a good place to shop for those of us men that stick to the Big & Tall section. They had a good selection of larger sizes, in their own area, at reasonable prices, and with lots of sales and clearance items. Though curiously they never had any men’s underwear bigger then XL - I once asked a clerk if fat people were supposed to go commando.
Then when the gay guy took over they still had a B&T section but there was nothing in it I would have taken for free and prices were through the roof. Still no drawers I could wear either. So I quit going there. I’ve checked a few times since but haven’t seen much improvement.
We used to use the JCP charge card back in the day also, but they got militant with late fees - we’d send payment 10 days ahead of the due date and they would claim it was late and charge like $40 late fee. So we told them to stick it and took our business elsewhere.
