“Smart and Final” and “Winco” are real grocery store names. I know what you mean about them sounding fake. Years ago, when we first moved to Rockford, Illinois, the two big local grocery stores were “Logli” and Highlander. I had it in my head that Logli had to be a lumber yard and Highlander was a discount home improvement center. Both were just big supermarkets, and Logli is pronounced “Lohg-lee”.
