That's the instant rejoinder which stops the conversation in its tracks and prevents any reasonable discussion of the issue. If that doesn't work, the next step is to accuse you of wanting to kill vulnerable people.

What's really galling here is this woman, Barbara Ferrer, all by her lonesome, dictates to 10 million people in Los Angeles County what they may or may not do in their everyday lives. She takes to the podium every single day with more orders and mandates. They call her "Doctor" although her doctorate is in education. She is not an M.D. as far as I can determine, yet she apparently knows everything about the epidemiology of this virus and can shut down businesses and the entire economy unchecked, as long as she wants. The Board of Supervisors simply does what she says.
