He was pushed to recuse himself from Democrats because of statements he made during his confirmation hearings. He had been asked by Franken if he knew of anyone from the Trump campaign who had met or had contacts with the Russian government. Sessions replied: "Senator Franken, I'm not aware of any of those activities. I have been called a surrogate at a time or two in that campaign and I didn't have -- did not have communications with the Russians, and I'm unable to comment on it."
On March 1st, 2017, news breaks that Session met with the Russian Ambassador twice, and Pelosi said he "lied under oath, and needs to resign." Those meetings were legit as he was still a Senator, and head of the Senate Armed Services Committee. The next day Sessions recuses himself.
We all know WHY he was under bogus investigation. That's not the issue. The issue is that he WAS UNDER FBI INVESTIGATION.
You really do need to understand that basic fact before you continue to open your yap.
