Since you’ve brought up the subject though, you do realize that we’ve been under lockdown for almost 2 months, that many parts of state, local and federal government are running at half speed at best?

So it’s your contention that they would have gotten around to arresting these two eventually even if pressure had not been brought?

I believe that with media pressure, it was inevitable that they would be at least questioned again, if not arrested, yes. The letter posted on this thread lays out why one prosecutor recused himself from the case and some commentators gave reasons why few prosecutors would want to take the case; i.e., they see it as unwinnable and a “hot potato” issue. The next usual step is to go to the DOJ to press federal charges under “hate” crimes statutes. While we can debate whether the father/son duo did something foolish, under Georgia’s laws, prosecutor’s obviously feel they don’t have a winnable case against them.
