It’s legal to walk down the street with a shotgun in clear view. It’s legal to make a withdrawal from the bank. Using a shotgun to make a bank withdrawal is not “ipso facto” legal. Let’s not be silly.
Ultimately, all this is speculation on everyone’s part. A trial should put all the facts out there and see the law applied to those facts. I have no idea whether these guys did something wrong (legally or ethically). But I do know there’s a guy who’s dead and it isn’t completely clear that it was a pure act of self defense. So a trial is a good thing to have to get to the bottom of things.
