Didn’t the local police want to charge the McMichaels but hte DA nixed it?
“Glynn County Commissioner Dr. J. Peter Murphy told 11Alive News, Friday evening, that the office of Brunswick District Attorney Jackie Johnson instructed Glynn County police on the day of the shooting to stand down.
After a long discussion, back and forth (between the DA’s office and police investigators), you know, about whether the McMichaels were a flight risk or not a flight risk, the decision was made—they were told not to press charges, not to make arrests, Murphy said, despite what the video shows.”
I dont have an hour to explain what is going on here, but this sounds all like political posturing. First, the police listed the elder McMichael as a witness in the police report. The police didnt even consider charging him from day one. This was a self-defense type case. It is routine for the police to work in conjunction with the district attorneys office. In a case like this, the police would consult with the district attorney before doing anything. Its very convenient for the police, with the race hustlers protesting outside of their doors, to claim they were in a position to arrest them the day it happened. By the way, I guarantee you that the local police department will be doing everything in their power to help the defendants in this case. Ive been involved in a few of these racially charged cases. The cops will quietly help the defense attorneys
In a case like this, where the McMichaels were claiming self-defense, it is very common for the district attorney to make the call. It is laughable to think that the cops were pushing for prosecution in this case. In fact, they listed the elder McMichael as a witness in the police report. This article was a convenient way for the police department to get the heat off of them from the rent a riot Trust me, the cops will do everything in their power to quietly help the defendants. Ive experienced it personally in similar cases
