Bunker Hill: a City, a Siege, a Revolution. New York: Viking, 2013.
Valiant Ambition: George Washington, Benedict Arnold, and the Fate of the American Revolution New York: Viking, 2016.
In the Hurricane's Eye: The Genius of George Washington and the Victory at Yorktown, 2018.
The first two were good. The last one is kind of a falling off. Too unfocused. Too much about the French, if I remember right.
Rick Atkinson is also working on a trilogy about the Revolution to go with his trilogy about WWII. The first volume, The British Are Coming is already published.
1776 and Paul Revere's Ride are both worth reading. I also read American Spring: Lexington, Concord, and the Road to Revolution by Walter Borneman, but it may not have been that good - I don't remember too much about it.
One thing about reading different accounts is that the events and the timeline become clearer in your mind as you experience the different battles and other events over again.
There must also be thousands of books about the Founding Fathers, both during and after the Revolution. Take your pick.
Will check it out. And BTW I love reading the articles your post when I see them!
Thanks for your feedback. After this post I will research as a beginner.
Thanks for your kind remarks!

“The Politically Incorrect Guide to the American Revolution” by Dave Dougherty and myself (Regnery) is a very thorough and scholarly review of the Revolution.
Usually, the “PIG” series are lightweight, fun, not considered a “go-to” source. But Dave and I approached this differently.
I also recommend “The Minutemen and their World,” John Fehrling’s “Whirlwind,” and an old standard “The American Revolution” by John Alden.
Here’s one I’m now going to order, looks interesting, provbably will get the audiobook:

1776 was good, but I read The Day the American Revolution Began: 19 April 1775 (William Hallahan). The premise here is that the colonies were told of the start at different times since the news spread so slow. Great read!

Thanks - I think after all this input I will start with 1776 followed by some suggestions on this thread.

I also learned a tremendous amount about Texas history from James Michener's (800 page) novel, Texas.
For those looking for a visual experience, HBO's series "John Adams" is excellent.
