Florida! We will be opening barbershops and salons tomorrow, thank goodness. My hubby looks like he sat on a battery.

I like that one. By the time it becomes available the virus will probably have mutated out of danger zone

here is advice for visiting mother on mothers day

Dr Louis P Coates
22 hrs ·
The big question the past few days is can you see your mom for Mother’s Day?

I think the answer is yes but you’re going to have to do things a little different to make sure it is safe. First is if they are coming over to your house have them sit outside on the patio. All the furniture outside should be safe as the ultraviolet light helps sanitize it. In addition, it’s much safer to be outside as the air blows the virus around. Have your parent’s sit up wind from you and more than six feet away. If you are closer than six feet you need to use a mask for sure. Give your parents their own table to eat at, wash your hands good before touching their plates, silverware etc.

If you go to their house then do not go inside. Remain on the patio as much as possible so not to contaminate the inside of their house. Once again sit down wind from your parents and use separate tables. If you have to go inside, wipe down anything you touch with disinfectant.

If your mother is in a long term care or nursing facility and you can not go inside due to the new regulations. Go outside her window and call her. Tell her to look out the window and wave at her as it will mean the world to her to get to see you again. Even though it is for their protection it is still very hard to understand not having visitors.

It will be a little more difficult than usual but it is important to make the effort. Remember, that isolation and separation can lead to severe depression. So make an effort to at least video chat if you can’t or are too afraid to see your mom.

If she is not already taking them, give your mom some supplements for Mother’s day.

Make it a great but safe Mother’s Day weekend!

Happy Mother’s Day

I read a tip to wash the goggles in soapy water (which will also decontaminate them) and don’t rinse and let air dry. The soapy film will prevent them from fogging.

I haven’t tried this. Yet. Now that it is getting warmer I might.

Then you can live free as a bird with no worries, no mask, and no googl es.

i tried it. didnt work. toothpaste didnt work

i am going to have to find something to clip the top of my mask. I have a variety of masks but save certain ones for certain things...like n95 for going to the Dr or to get blood work.

I will probably just get a face shield if it looks like infections ramp up as people are let loose

Rainx sounds like it is worth a try - I think I have a bottle in the garage. I tried it on my windshields but couldn’t stand it for that - but worth a try for the fogging. thanks!

Believe it or not, lots of research has been done already on the OTHER human coronaviruses (that cause colds, etc) and the ocular portal of entry has been known for many years.

When I turned 60 my wife finally nagged me to go get a regular annual checkup. This was in the before times, all the way back in January of 2020.

Took the blood panel, and sure enough, was Vitamin D deficient. He recommended a maintenance dose of 2000 IU during the winter. I don’t know why, but I asked him if he took any supplements — he looked at me kind of funny, and said “this isn’t a prescription, it’s just what I take” and then rattled off a list of stuff, some of which I had never heard of. Zinc, quercetin (had never heard of it) Vitamin C.

Reminded me of the hippy dippy 70’s when mega doses of Vitamin C were all the rage.

But it does turn out that there’s no question that low levels of vitamin d are associated with all sorts of unpleasant things as we get older, so basically zero risk, and pretty good possible benefits with that one.

thinks we think and things we know about other virus aren’t scientific proof until it becomes scientific proof.

I have known for some time it is likely that you can get it through the eyes and have been protecting them for months.

It’s another thing when there is hard science that says Yes, our theory was right.

Scientists have claimed the coronavirus can enter the body through the eyes..

Great, so now we must wear glasses, a face mask and gloves and or wash our hands multiple times a day. Next we'll find it gets in our hair or clothes.

Wow through eye balls you say. Probably from pupils enlarging while watching porn or from having a good hand in poker. CDC soon to issue new warning about both.

You have to strike a balance for your mental health.

But I can tell you that I will not be one that is gasping for breath wishing I had worn a damn mask!

Hopefully, this thing mutates out soon so things can go back to normal.

Helen Thomas pictures can kill too.

The only known cure is to look at pictures of scantily clad women.
