This is not a shitpile. For years the French Foreign Ministry fought the French military for control of this tragic place. It was considered important because of the number of gems mined there (that never reached the market but were of superior quality). When the mines played out, France lost interest. And now we have the Christians and Muslims at war in one of the most tragic places on earth.

The same tale could be written about half the countries in Africa. Nothing there of any value yet the animals there continue to tear each other to pieces to see who gets to feast on the dusty bone.

It's less tragic than it is pathetic. And completely predictable.
