Comey, Brennan, Clapper & Admiral Rogers came to brief
Trump, Pence, FLYNN, Priebus, Tom Bossert, Pompeo & Spicer.
It’s been recently speculated that FLYNN would immediately know the whole thing was a lie when they briefed Trump if/as FLYNN was there - thus they had to take him out. Now, in context, it makes no sense that the meeting at the White House on 1/5/2017 would involve both the planning of the dossier briefing + media coordination with CNN along with the entrapment of FLYNN for “logan act violations”. And here Clapper is, also inadvertently disclosing how much he was aware of the Trump camp and their personnel - why would the DNI be so intricately aware of such details?

I’m sure the reason you capitalized FLYNN is to make it clear that he was the only one in that briefing with an intelligence background. In fact Mike Pompeo was a businessman and former Congressman but his appointment was criticized because he had no prior deep state experience. General Flynn would have put proper procedures in place and would have sniffed out their nefarious schemes.
It seems to me this meeting was less about “briefing” and morea about surveilling the Trump team, and assessing their level of sophistication. If so there’s little doubt that Comey, Clapper, and Brennan dismissed the others as inexperienced lightweights that could easily be manipulated, but knowing Flynn from the past they would have identified him as the target that needed to be removed.
Only a DNI who was in collusion with the others to resist, disrupt, and ultimately remove the new President would have interest in such matters.
