I’m so old I remember when being drunk was an excuse. When I was a kid a guy took out a power pole in town and everybody was talking about it. “Well, he was drunk”, people said. They followed that with, “You know when you are drunk you don’t get hurt because your body is relaxed”. Nobody was mad at the guy. Hey he was drunk, it’s to be expected he might run into something.
