I don’t have issue with non-poisonous snakes. They do control rodents, but the poisonous types I know how to handle. I kill them.
Rattlers, cotton mouths and coral snakes. History if I can make it so.
City Folks don’t get it. Too many tree huggers, who don’t have a clue about dangerous animals.
I had a recurring problem, every January and February, with cobras coming on my property in Jakarta. They were young cobras, whose venom is far more deadly than the adults. Every year I killed 8 to 10 of them, some inside my house. This was very worrying, as my grandchildren are always running around outside barefoot.I figured out that they came because during the height of the rainy season, you cannot walk across my lawn without stepping on frogs, and frogs are their favourite food. They took out some of the small rats, as well.
By good fortune, a biawak (water monitor) moved into my place around six months ago. Biawaks love frogs and rats, and this year the frog population was way down. Fewer rats as well, and I have not seen one cobra this year. The biawak had a missus move in, and now I have Pa, Ma, and a young’un. Pa is over four feet long now, good diet, and scares the hell out of visitors!
