I seem to recall from an old Soldier of Fortune magazine that Pro Tip #8 for hiring a hit man is that the person should have enough resources on hand to do the job.

She’ll probably get a lighter sentence and will find a new boyfriend while the guy is still in jail. He’ll be thinking about that lie and his dumb decision for a while.
