Or grocery stores. Man you can barely get 2 carts down those tight isles, and if you are in a electric cart it’s worse.

I have friends who lose their Pain meds this month, they have heart conditions, they are Veterans. And they won’t survive the Heart attack removing the Pain meds will cause. Same goes for those in the Civilian populations, many are now bedridden or in a wheelchair.
I’m not far from one. And can’t take either OTC or prescription, GI patients can’t handle them.

It’s a confusing chart. At the top it says the data is “as of” May 1, but the weekly totals stop at April 25th. Also, there is a column for Covid-19 and a separate column for Covid-19 AND pneumonia. Those two columns added together are pretty close to the Covid-19 total we were seeing about eight days ago. So I don’t know what to make of it.

Early on, I noticed the daily CDC numbers were not reliable. They would keep updating them after the fact for days or even weeks. I personally think this story might be much ado about nothing.
To: Enlightened1
Apparently “they” say the lower number reflects lagging indicators.
Scrolling down to the bottom we can see numbers state by state.

I just looked at the Worldometer stats for eleven of the countries with fairly high CV cases-per-million. The US is unique in that our daily new cases and new deaths have been on a plateau for more than a month, with no downward trend.
Most of the countries reached a plateau that lasted one or two weeks, followed by a steady decline in new cases and new deaths. In most of those countries, the daily new cases and new deaths are less than 30% of what they were at the peak, sometimes less than 20%. Even Sweden looks like it might have peaked already, but it's a little too soon to tell for sure.
The only country I checked that resembles the US is the UK, which had a long peak of three weeks, and only a recent slight decline in deaths and new cases. Deaths are still running at about 60% of the peak total.
In the US, our deaths have dropped considerably from the peak in the last two days, but that's happened before. Last Sunday and Monday were less than 50% of the peak, but then they jumped way up again until Friday and yesterday. It's been frustrating; I keep looking for a consistent, sustained downward trend, but it hasn't happened.
Either the shutdowns haven't worked as advertised, the numbers are inflated (which some are claiming), or our doctors are using less effective treatments than doctors in other countries.

“Flatten the curve” was a total lie. America sucked the lie.

The curve was indeed flattened. But the result of that is now this gets dragged out for much longer.
It’s a trade-off. That pretty much was a given from the beginning.

It’s important to note, when comparing the US to EU countries,
That countries in the EU aren’t equivalent to the US as a whole.
Countries in the EU are more equivalent to US states.
Just as EU countries respond differently, so do US states.

Good point. It's not too far away from the truth to say that the CV has hit about ten US states (or portions thereof) very hard, about ten or twelve states somewhat hard, and most of the rest not much at all.
Even within states, the variances are enormous. I live in Washington State, and as of yesterday 26 of our 40 counties had fewer than five CV deaths since the beginning, and 16 of those have had none at all. Most of our 800+ deaths have been concentrated in about five counties.

When the global spread map of the virus of Russia for example shows the entire country red even though it spans 11 time zone with vast empty area.
Here in Maryland, for all its faults, the daily update includes data down to the zip code level after county break downs...much more useful data which also proves that statewide edicts are silly and destructive.
