I “accidently” have a “computer on a stick” setup. The hard disk on one of my laptops crashed and so I decided to try running it with a Linux Mint on a USB stick and it works reasonably well (a bit slower and no hard drive access). Luckily I had all my files backed up in Dropbox.
Thanks for your info.
Right on... that’s the way to do it. Too bad the stick would not also let you go access and grab your files from the internal drive on that machine. I highly recommend anyone having a windows PC to also have a Linux stick. If the windows OS fouls then you can boot from the Linux stick and still go access and save all your files off the drive if it is still good as to not lose them. :)
