A sad story...I thought that United Kingdom had programs to help such poor people...United Kingdom has more social welfare programs than United States...

But of course there is a whole government subsidised industry based around making sure certain groups are helped to get everything...
while the authorities seem to go out of their way to deny others...
The case I mentioned was so embarrassing, the authorities relented and made sure a home was found for the soldier as well.

Not always though - even sadder was the case recently of an ex-soldier who simply starved to death at home when the authorities cut off all his benefits.

I'm sure in both cases that PTSD or other mental health problems meant that the veterans didn't turn up for welfare appointments or such like; but of course that should be no excuse.
