Gallup has close to 50% Indian population and their immune system doesn’t appear to be able to combat the virus. Native Americans have O type blood for example

O types are supposed to have the easiest time with the virus. A positives the worst. Must be something else.

I doubt enthnicity has anything to do with it.

Wrecked health by being a chronic drunk, fat, out of shape, and eating crap, however . . .

I hadn’t read that Type O blood was more likely to get virus before - where is that fact derived from?

Thought it was Type A and B that had more problems.

Man, the Indians can’t catch a break. 500 years ago it was white man’s disease that decimated them, today it’s yellow man’s disease.

“WINDOW ROCK, Ariz. — Residents on the Navajo Nation will be under another lockdown this weekend as the tribe seeks to keep the coronavirus from spreading even further into communities.

The lockdown is the fourth the tribe has implemented. It comes around the first of the month when tribal members often travel to towns bordering the reservation to shop for food and other supplies....

...As of Tuesday, the tribe’s health officials reported 1,873 positive cases of COVID-19 and 60 deaths. The 27,000 square-mile (70,000 square-kilometer) reservation stretches into Arizona, New Mexico and Utah.”

From early April:

“The measures are part of a scramble to protect more than 150,000 people on the vast Navajo reservation, which stretches 27,000 square miles across Arizona, New Mexico and Utah, and tens of thousands of others who live in towns bordering the Navajo Nation. As of Wednesday night, the virus had killed 20 people on the reservation, compared with 16 in the entire state of New Mexico, which has a population 13 times larger.”

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/09/us/coronavirus-navajo-nation.html

“In an effort to curb the rapid spread of the coronavirus in the Navajo Nation, the Navajo Department of Health issued an emergency public health order on April 17 mandating the use of masks outside the home, adding to existing orders that include sheltering in place and nightly and weekend curfews.

Native American communities have been hit particularly hard by coronavirus, the Navajo Nation the worst of all. As of April 18, the Nation, which spans parts of Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah, had 1,197 confirmed cases and 44 deaths. Were it a US state, it would fall at No. 3 for the number of confirmed coronavirus infections per capita, behind New York and New Jersey.”

I personally believe blood type and susceptibility is based on statistical errors.
This test says blood type-O has a less susceptibility. type-A is more at risk.
Again these are based on statistics which are likely in error. With no mechanism on why.

blood group O has a significantly lower risk for the infection compared with non-O blood groups
