I understand the negativity towards Anderson Cooper, which I mostly share, but........

My daughter and her husband "rented" a surrogates womb, and my daughter and son-in-law now have a very healthy, and beautiful 5-month old baby boy.

My daughter had no choice after having a cesarian delivery of twin girls and then being struck by cancer 3 years later.

Sometimes, you do what you have to.

I still loathe Anderson Cooper, mostly for his politics, and I still do not approve of him having a child the 'abnormal way'.

Joy & Blessings for your daughter her husband and their new child. When a child is brought into a loving, responsible family unit, that is always cause for a celebration.

Think of the kids who are orphaned early in life, but not adopted while they are infants. Some reach adulthood never having anybody worthy to call Mama or Daddy. I can’t imagine it, but we know it happens.

Yet we are supposed to applaud Cooper and others like him who deny their children a mother (or father).

From my limited understanding, I believe usually the doctor and the expectant parents will make those kinds of decisions.
The surrogate acts only as the ‘incubator’ unless invited into the discussion.
