TUSCON, Ariz., April 28, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — In a letter to Gov. Doug Ducey of Arizona, the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) presents a frequently updated table of studies that report results of treating COVID-19 with the anti-malaria drugs chloroquine (CQ) and hydroxychloroquine (HCQ, Plaquenil®).
To date, the total number of reported patients treated with HCQ, with or without zinc and the widely used antibiotic azithromycin, is 2,333, writes AAPS, in observational data from China, France, South Korea, Algeria, and the U.S. Of these, 2,137 or 91.6 percent improved clinically. There were 63 deaths, all but 11 in a single retrospective report from the Veterans Administration where the patients were severely ill.

Coronavirus patients describe symptoms that last a month or more
“...Patients diagnosed or suspected to have Covid-19 are posting via online forums and on social media about symptoms that feel endless. Many say it comes in waves. They start feeling better after a few weeks, but it hits them again and persists. These patients say they’re in the middle camp between those who experience the virus like a mild cold or flu, and those who are so sick they end up at the hospital.
Some strange coincidences with Gout.
First, Uric Acid is the most abundant antioxidant in the body, but in high concentrations forms crystals that cause severe and painful inflammation.
Gout is directly associated with high serum ferritin levels, which have also been associated with cytokine storm and poor outcomes with COVID-19 patients.
https://eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2020-04/spsu-hfl042220.php
Serum Ferritin levels are even higher in gout patients who take allopurinol, the most common gout medicine.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6094576/
Gout attacks require aggressive anti inflammitory treatments that are usually not good for the liver if taken too long, including colchicine and indomethacin.
This brings the questions. Is gout, with its associated high serum ferritin levels, a risk factor and does allopurinol make it worse? Are colchicine and/or indomethacin effective treatments?
RUSSIA
Russia bills US $660K for aid that included gas masks, household cleaning gloves
Russia billed the U.S. nearly $660,000 for its medical aid flight last month that included thousands of pieces of equipment not typically used by hospitals, including chemical warfare-style gas masks and household cleaning gloves, according to a government record of the shipment.
The cargo also included 45 ventilators that were not immediately useable because of voltage-related issues, according to two U.S. officials.
So it’s highly infectious then ?
Some of those TSA officers will be laid up for months. We still have infected unresolved and a couple critical from the Diamond Princess incident.
Just like they said, and our testing regime is still an abomination, promises of Trump notwithstanding.
Like it does for China LOL!
Our media treats sales as donations until the facts emerge... despite the media.
“The Last Ship: US Navy Keeping COVID-19 Clean Carrier Out At Sea Indefinitely”
I was thinking that what they should do a couple weeks ago after my Nephew ship got infected. They should have never ported in Vietnam.
They need to recrew the carrier groups with tested people and sent them back out to sea.
Don’t agree on the “abomination” claim.
Our testing, condsidering it’s pointedness, is awfully good.
Of course it isn’t perfect.

Colchicine is an anti-inflamatory; Idomethacin is too, only stronger.
High ferretin levels are great if you’re going to donate blood (and it’s an acceptable and safe way to reduce your ferretin levels) but not so great if serum iron is high enough to affect heart rhythms. So I can see where underlying rhythm issues waiting for the push of COVID would be not good for outcomes, especially in the obese.
Allopurinol has been shown to be cardiac and lung protective (in COPD patients). The objective in both COPD and gout being blocking xanthine oxidase/oxidative stress; glutathione oxidation, free radicals, H202 production. So it sounds good on the surface but it could contribute to liver damage. Allopurinol also interfers with the metabolism of pyrimadines (RNA/DNA) and azathioprine (marrow).
Allopurinol acts as an enhancer for warfarin, prolonging clearance. Heparin is being used to combat the clotting CCPVirus causes. Does allopurinol have the same enhancement effect on heparin? Is the enhancement rate on an individual basis too tricky to safely manage? And what about Allopurinol not always playing well with others, especially certain antibiotics? Is it more trouble than it’s worth in a critical care, split second situation? Questions I sure can’t answer.

Immigrants in ICE custody clash with Massachusetts jail officials in latest disturbance over coronavirus
“...According to the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office, Friday’s incident started after “about 10 detainees” at one of the facilities in the complex reported having symptoms of COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.
“The detainees refused to get tested for COVID-19, then when notified they were required to be tested because of reporting symptoms, rushed violently at Sheriff Thomas M. Hodgson and corrections officers, barricaded themselves inside the facility, ripped washing machines and pipes off the wall, broke windows and trashed the entire unit,” the office said in a statement.
Upon re-entering the detention facility, corrections officers, a K9 dog unit and a “special response team” were “attacked” by immigrant detainees, according to the sheriff’s office. The immigrants were later restrained, the office added....”
“...The sheriff’s office, which confirmed to CBS News that pepper spray was used on Friday, said the disturbance caused $25,000 worth of damage. “Detainees have been moved to single cells in the special housing unit pending disciplinary action, COVID-19 testing and criminal charges,” the office added in its statement.
Check these idiots out. As far as I’m concerned, they need to strap them into seats on a plane, and ship their entitled psycho butts back to the hellholes they came from with a swift kick in the butt on their way off the plane
It leaves me thinking there are multiple strains. Maybe one in particular designed to take down the young and healthy military personnel and strategic cities, the other more contagious but less deadly, deployed among civilian populations to create fear, havoc, division, to overwhelm HCS, take out food production and economy in general.
Flubros are plotting and claiming it's all just a hoax. Some are refusing to even wear masks and bragging about it. All perfect timing for this to really ratchet up again, now that it's in every state. If over 65 thousand dead from a disease in only two months doesn't get people's attention, I'm beginning to wonder what will.
We could still lose control, if we're not smart. Everything we've tried to avoid, including collapse of our HCS, food shortages, riots, and complete collapse of our economy can still happen. Now is not the time to lower our guard. Now is the time to evaluate if we need to do more, and to ensure we maintain precautions as America returns to work.
I hope and pray the spike we've both seen isn't the start of a secondary surge, already starting.
The USA has airlifted some 60-80K citizens/spouses over the last 6 weeks. I’d like to see some individualized info on them, also - same as we had for the Wuhan airlift folks. The only factoid we have on them is they tested negative prior to rescue. But were they like the Wuhan 3 airlift or DP airlift and symptomatic on landing or shortly thereafter? big blank.
right now, it’s the rural and semi-rural folk that need to watch out for themselves. An article from last night said that 1/3 new infections non-urban and 1/4 urban (I guess the rest suburban?) All those city folk on the interstates traveling to their country cabins getting out of town used the same freeway gas stations and fast food places and roadside cafes the locals do. Really no other explanation for it.

Coronavirus Pandemic Update 65: COVID-19 and Oxidative Stress (Prevention & Risk Factors)
Dr. Seheult breaks down multiple studies that illustrate how oxidative stress (primarily from reactive oxygen species) and endovascular inflammation may play a key role in COVID-19 infection severity. The understanding of this pathway may give important guidance for the prevention and treatment of severe coronavirus infections.

The 65,000 dead is being explain away as overcounted death, Hospitals and Nursing homes are tricking the government out of money.. I see post on facebook with jokes like person gets hits by car cause of death is Coronavirus.
I do not think the number of deaths will get the Just a Flu crowd attention until it hits near home unfortunately. That will happen soon with the States starting to open up. Pray this does not happen.
The States do need to open up because people can not stay at home forever. The States will have to open and shut down as the numbers go and down. People have to learn to adapt and live with Covid-19, unfortunately that means we will loose people. If we leave people in lock down to long that would cause more hoax conspiracy theories and riots. It is a no win situation, because different people act different when stress.
I do think there are multiple strains. Not sure if by creations or mutation. Mutation can go either way more deadly or less deadly. Hoping it mutates to a less deadly / spreadable version then go away.
We are still prepping for complete collapse of economy, we will see if Trump can prevent this. My new camping/portable freezer arrives Tuesday for some extra meat storage. My cousin will teach me how to hunt and clean deer this fall. I have enough cash in reserves to cover my house and land (maybe add more land).
