Well unlike the last video from Chicago like this I’ve seen, at least the cop didn’t unload on the guy.
Course there have most likely been other incidents there that we may not be aware of.
We’re like Moscow in 1953.
“I was in fear for my life”.
Works every time it’s tried.
WTF! I hope this guy survives so he can collect that big check that the Soviet Socialist Republic of Chicago is going to be writing over this. And whoever pulled the trigger should be criminally prosecuted for aggravated assault.
Every thing no matter how slight carries a death penalty.
Certainly shooting a fleeing suspect in the back is an appropriate reaction for a crime as serious as walking from one subway car to another. /s
At least when I did my CC training in this state, it was made very clear that someone running away from you cannot possibly be a threat to your life.
I watched the video. There is NO WAY that guy was a threat to the officers or to anyone else. Even the most ardent pro-police person won’t be able to defend the police here. As I see it, two possibilities:
1. The cop thought he/she was firing a taser.
2. The cop felt disrespected, lost emotional control, and deliberately fired his/her pistol.
The first cop in the video looks like a small woman. So I’m going with possibility #2.
I would charge the cop who pulled the trigger with attempted murder and allow them to plead it down to manslaughter with jail time and a lifetime ban on possessing a firearm ... and I come from a large family of cops in Baltimore (i.e., the east coast version of Chicago).

I’ve always tended to be a little anti-police (about half would be criminals, or are criminals anyway). However, 2020 has turned me into a full blown hater of law enforcement. I will shun them and avoid them as much as possible from now on. I told my wife, she better stop with those donations to the FOP pronto.
In civilized societies that only carries a life sentence. When will we, as a country, join the rest of the totalitarian world?

You’ve got that right. If a cop comes knocking at you door, you’d better not be holding a silver cell phone. That could be a capital offense.
To be fair, all parties in this looked somewhat brain-damaged. The victim (and he is a victim) as well as the impatient half-wit transit cops who couldn’t and didn’t want to deal with him and decided shooting was the answer. I wonder if “shoot” really meant “tase,” but it got lost in translation.
If you watch the video, they clearly shot him. And it is more the way that LE has eagerly enforced these draconian lockdowns that has soured me further.
an armed person running away can’t possibly be a threat? They can’t whirl around and start blasting?
Not saying that was what happened in this video- just wondering about your comment- I saw a video of an officer telling a man to take his hands out of his pockets and to stop walking away so the policeman could question him- the scumbag refused - and just kept glaring back at him as he started walking off faster— then without warning, he whirled around with a gun in his hand, and shot the officer dead- it happened in the blink of an eye-
They are letting criminals out of jail/prison ...and, yet, shooting people for switching cars????
