Japan has started a "mass exodus" of manufacturing from China as the country moves to become more self-sufficient and less reliant on the Chinese Communist Party's supply chain. The Japanese government is seeking to end reliance on its Chinese neighbor following the coronavirus pandemic that originated in China.

Waiting for that to happen here.
Good. Now lets do the same.

Banzai!
Good for Japan.
Smart move...let’s follow this direction!!!
Good. Trump tried to move in that direction, and to get back at him, the peoples republic infected millions.
As far as I can tell, the Japanese are more patriotic than Americans. Not in all cases, just in general.
“Good. Now lets do the same.”
Waiting for some free traitors to come tell us how smart it is to keep manufacturing in China.
I wish America would follow suit.
EVERY country needs to do this.
Isolate China.
Nikon has been loosing customers and sales because China hasn’t been able to delver.
500mm PF has been on allocation for over 2 years.
In Pinochle, when you can't follow suit, you use Trump. Just sayin'
Japan has already bought the entire supply of Stevia from Paraguay, leaving the rest of the world consuming the Red Chinese cultivated version. We should start growing it more here. People will pay for good Stevia.
Having worked there, I always felt that Japanese were far more strategic, nationalistic, and cautious in their business dealings with China than the USA has been.
The Japanese know they are hated in China and there is little attempt to disguise it in China. They always new the Chinese would be rivals. No Japanese company I know would send any key dual-use technology, or commercially valuable IP to China in the first place.
The corrupt culture of massive debt, short-term management gain, and multi-cultural globalism has infected American elites and business-leaders far more than it has Japanese.
Does Nikon make any lenses in Japan?
Rumblings about Europe and the UK doing it too.
In Japan, the elites can get together in their clubs and some Ministry events, and coordinate industrial policy much more than we can in our diverse society and more open markets.
But some things are moving on the Government front in the USA, with bi-partisan support, for self sufficiency of critical items.
The bottom line is the re-election. If President Trump is re-elected, the tariffs can do the heavy lifting. If Biden, or another commiecrat gets in, China will run roughshod over the USA (But the families of Democrat elites will become billionaires, in the Chinese model).
Cheers for Japan!
Probably not . Thailand most likely .
Depends upon your definition of "American."
The Japanese do not allow immigrants to settle. Nor do they have "entitlement" classes/races.
They're very protective of their cultural and national integrity.
The USA, on the other hand, is committing suicide because of the fact we allow/promote the above. The very entitlement classes/races we support are also allowed to vote. As are crimigrants/immigrants.
Gee. What could go wrong with that? /s
I found that out when my daughter attended a public school in Japan and showed me her text book which gave a more sympathetic view of the American Revolution than ours do. I suppose it might have been copied from an American text book, circa 1960 or so before we let the leftists rewrite them.
