Wow. Bill Haley was a Western swing guy. ‘Holy spade coolie batman’
I’m a rocker who also loves old country. I will have to investigate more on Haley. Some of his great rockers like Rock around the Clock and others were in the early infancy of R&R. My travel playlist in my truck has “Shake Rattle and Roll” But not the Haley cover. The original ‘race record’ by Big Joe Turner was far superior and much more suggestive.
