Actually, the UFO/alien thing represents a huge market. For example, The History Channel has long since become The UFO/Alien Channel. Visitors to their main offices say their walls are plastered with UFO show posters (that's where the money is).

As was said upthread by cgbg, the difficulty is separating the wheat from the chaff.
