Several reasons for the disparity in the numbers.

• The Chinese numbers are made up. They in no way reflect reality.
  • The Chinese are obviously lying, downplaying their numbers. You don't just stop something like this in it's tracks. The numbers look too good, too clean to be real.
  • In truth they probably don't know with any degree of certainty how many people have it, had it, or died from it.
• The situation in the US isn't much better. The US numbers are made up. They in no way reflect reality.
  • CDC guidelines allow, even encourage false reporting of deaths as CV caused or related.
  • Doctors are counting patients as CV cases with absolutely no proof, no tests. They are literally just assuming a patient, living or dead, has or had CV.
  • Some (many?) testing methods or kits are apparently unreliable.
  • It appears CV may be far more widespread than originally thought. Apparently as high as 80% of the people who get it show no symptoms or only mild symptoms.

The upshot is we don't even know where we are at. When the dust settles it is going to take months of analysis to back the BS out of the reported numbers and come up with a realistic picture of what happened. Right now, it is just chaos and spin by the leftists who want this to appear far worse than it really is, and tank the economy in yet another attempt to thwart President Trump's MAGA agenda.

Oh, and for any of you lib lurkers out there that don't believe me about the CDC guidelines - go get it straight from the horse's mouth:

Note the line (emphasis mine):

"...COVID-19 should be reported on the death certificate for all decedents where the disease caused or is assumed to have caused or contributed to death..."

So they only have to assume it may have contributed. In many cases (medicare/medicaid or no insurance at all) there are financial incentives to make that assumption and report the patient as a CV patient.

And I am beginning to wonder if this virus “antigen” packages resembles other human tiisue so that our immune system attacks other tissues. Supposedly it piggybacks in the cell via ACE2 receptors on our cell surfaces.
You are correct in surmising that it will take months to determine what really happened.. Our surveillance is so incomplete at present.
At present, a great bindrance in this battle is the politization of it by many democrat party hacks and their subservient media minions.

Apparently those on the front lines, in the media and both political parties, cannot overcome their inability to say “I was wrong” or to even say “fooled me.” The President hurts his own case sometimes when he fails to acknowledge even accepting bad information from his own team of experts, amplified by the experts doing the same. Talk about exponential rate of growth. Couldn’t just one genius say “sorry, I goofed and fed in some bad data. Mea culpa?”
