Of course, right? Cats are very careful about where they walk, for the most part. We have a large braided rug in the entry hall of our front door. The cat LOVES to lay on the rug and stretch out when the sun is shining in.
Later, when he wants to go outside, he will walk around the rug and manage to get outside without ever touching it (as long as human is holding the door open).
