Africa registers 1,298 dead and 27,427 infected
The death toll from covid-19 in Africa has risen to 1,298 in the past few hours, with 27,427 reported cases of the disease in 52 countries, according to the latest pandemic statistics on that continent.
According to the African Union’s Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), in the last 24 hours, the number of registered deaths has risen from 1,242 to 1,298 while infections have increased from 25,937 to 27,427.
The total number of recovered patients rose from 6,534 to 7,474, an increase greater than that recorded in the past few days.
With 367 dead in the last 24 hours, Spain has had the least death since March 21
In Spain, Covid-19 killed 367 people in the last hour, contrary to the trend of stabilization in the last three days (from 430 to 440 deaths) and lowering the number of deaths to the lowest level since March 21, than the dead were 324. The death toll from Covid-19 in the neighboring country now stands at 22,524.
