Mandatory mask orders were common in the 1918 pandemic.

Also common were ‘anti mask leagues’ and ‘anti mask committees’.

During the first wave at least.

During the second wave they largely STFU and wore masks.

When you consider more than a century of medical advances there is no -- none; zero; nada; nil -- comparison that can be legitimately made between how the 1918 Spanish Flu was dealt with and how the 2020 Chinese Virus is being addressed.
