Prime minister Pedro Sanchez said Spain’s lockdown will be eased within weeks

Spain recorded 4,211 new cases today, taking the total from 204,178 to 208,389

The death toll rose from 21,282 to 21,717 after another 435 were recorded today

S.KOREA

SEOUL (Xinhua): South Korea reported 11 more cases of Covid-19 compared with the previous day as of midnight Wednesday (April 22) local time, raising the total number of infections to 10,694.

The daily caseload hovered around 10 for the fifth straight day. Of the new cases, six were imported from overseas, raising the combined number to 1,017.

One more death was confirmed, lifting the death toll to 238. The total fatality rate came in at 2.23 per cent.
