"Corcovado" (known in English as "Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars") is a bossa nova song written by Antônio Carlos Jobim in 1960. An English lyric was later written by Gene Lees. The Portuguese title refers to the Corcovado mountain in Rio de Janeiro.

Imagine sitting on the terrace with a warm breeze, palms swaying, waves lapping at the shore, a Brazilian beauty cooing this song at the real original Copacabana in Rio feeling a little like James Bond. I have. It was wonderful.
The same at Hotel Tamanaco in Caracas was actually better. Argentine steaks, Cuban cigars and all the other trappings of a seductive tropical night.
Great memories of my world traveling days. I got to see and experience a lot good and not so much. I fix on the good.
