In 2018 over 80 thousand people in the USA died from the flu. Did we shut down the economy from it? The same media barely mentioned it.

A top down one solution fits all economically never works. It does not make sense when we have areas in the country that have 0 cases, but they are shut down?
How about a targeted approach? For instance, lock down high impacted cities like New York, Los Angeles, Detroit and wherever else it is high.
Where it is low turn on the economy. Although people can still do social distancing masks, gloves and no large venues of more than 100 people?
Ask overlord Bill Gates
No way would a lockdown into next year be tolerated. If it continues into May there will be resistance and massive non compliance.
As for Freepers that want to live your life in constant fear, then stay home and wait for your vaccine that may never come.
Remember the 2018 and 2019 flu deaths will be higher than Coronavirus, and they have a vaccine for the flu.
I don’t know about anyone else but I will rally with other like minded patriots to go and yank these mini dictators out of their offices.
It will magically end the day after election day.
The Tree of Liberty will need to be watered.
Moot question. I’m another thirty days most state capitals will be on fire.
Next year. Its time NOW. its the Flu Bro.
You’re out of touch with what’s going on in the areas where it has really hit.
Where it hasn’t, things are starting to open up again.
This is a massive threat to our sovereignty and civil rights, but also a legit health crisis.
Get a clue.
Never going to happen.
Everyone cannot sit at home and watch warehoused food reserves deplete to zero.
Somebody has to go out to milk the cows, plant seeds, feed the chickens, etc.
For every 1% increase of unemployment after 1 year 30 to 40 thousand more people die. In the last 4 weeks we have lost 22 million jobs. That is an increase of 13% of the unemployment with a potential death count of 390,000 to 520,000 people after a year.
Here is the percent, by industry, saying their business will still exist if the crisis lasts 6 months:

All retail (except grocers): 33%
Hotels: 27%
Personal services: 22%
Restaurants and bars: 15%
Consider this to be an extended inoculation against accepting the command-and-control form of government. This might be considered to be a form of socialism, but socialism is only one aspect of the whole idea of the strong ruling over those perceived as weaker or subservient. Not very many of the enforced orders have anything to do with IMPROVING the state of existence of the vast majority of people, but only with obedience. And demanding obedience is such a rush for those in position to exert control.
I believer there are plenty of lamp posts around, and rope is still available. Don’t be going around pissing people off, especially when they have enjoyed a lifetime of taking minimal crap from others.
What does anybody have to lose, at that point?
It wont work. The American people are not very good at being ruled over. People will stay home until this virus is figured out and then nothing will keep us home. We already think we are good to go.
They will, because in the end New Yorkers are good little Democrat toadies, willing to go Stasi on their neighbors who break the rules, and will faithfully vote for the Biden-Whitmer/Abrams/Klochubar/Kamala/whoever the babykilling feminazi VP pick he makes.
Oh yeah, Hollyweird will love it. No pat themselves on the back award shows? Sure.
In NYC, the masses, cooped up in massive projects, will love spending their summer with no pool or beaches. Riots.
Beyond our fearful governor in Alaska, and his emergency decrees; people have been mass ignoring it for the last week and more and more over the last few days.
Stores are full, roads are filling. People are getting out. It is spring breakup and there WILL BE HELL TO PAY if the fear-mongers try to keep Alaskans locked up for much longer.
This unbalanced setting just can't hold: people who are in lockdown won't take this much longer, especially when they know or find out what's going on in places like mine.
Not going to happen.
People are already beginning to show civil disobedience.
The Governors have two choice, lead the parade are be left behind.
I predicted the American people would tolerate this for about four to six weeks before they began to push back. It has already started.
It is becoming obvious the “cure” is worse than the disease.
I understand the reason for it. The government needed time. Well they have had time. Now it is time to open our nation back up and let people get back to work.
Idly looking at my bank’s website. They’re projecting that $2000 saved over 5 years will have purchasing power of $1500 due to inflation.
