did anyone ever say that it was very deadly? From the very beginning it was stated that 80% of those affected would have the symptoms of a mild cold if at all and about 15% would have harsh symptoms and the remaining require hospitalization and unfortunately death.
Unfortunately, some friends of mine have passed. 3 were very old, one had cancer :(

The study projected that something like 3% of the U.S. population could have already been infected. That is an extrapolation but not an unreasonable one.
And we are talking about right now when we have had nearly 40,000 deaths. Note that the U.S. population is about 330,000,000 and 3% of that is about 10,000,000. That is the guess being made about how many have been infected.
If so the death rate is about 40,000/10,000,000 = .004 or .4%. That could be but it is still very high. I hope the estimates of .001 turn out to be right.
