I’ve heard two things. 1) Drudge sold The Drudge Report. 2) he still owns it but, has not been actively involved and hired a Senior Editor from one of the MSM newspapers who runs the site day-to-day.
I don’t know if either is true. But, I’ve read reports claiming one or the other.

How is it possible that a site that gets as many hits as Drudge, and no one knows who runs it?

Can't see him having turned over day to day operations and not pulling it back in line when it got off track. If he still had a financial interest in it, he'd be upset that traffic has dropped.

Either he sold it (what I think) or someone paid him a bundle to switch sides. Haven't been to the site in a while, but Drudge's best attributes were that he could spot a good story and he was one of the best headline writers ever. Last few times I went to the site, which was quite a while ago, all the headlines were lame, but copying his style.
