It is a very outstanding speech, and, seems to me to have the flavor of the Trump speech-writing team.
Towards the end, the Vice President brought up Pearl Harbor, clearly comparing it to the current attack on the United States, and PERHAPS signalling that the defensive preparations are now in place and a counterattack is in the offing.
TO WIT he said:
"This day, April 18th ... is significant ..." (referring historically to April 18, 1942)
On this day just 4 months after the attack on Pearl Harbor ... an attack that is not just a day that lives in infamy ... but it shocked the nation and pulled us into war ... but on this day Lt. Colonel Jimmy Doolittle led 16 B-25 bombers off the USS Hornet for an attack on Tokyo 668 miles away.
