Try getting a broken arm or leg and still driving a car with a manual transmission.
I drove with a couple of sprained ankles.
It was only a half-mile trip.
At the time I couldn’t leave my Tacoma where it was, Sunday afternoon, I wasn’t bleeding and nothing appeared broken. No way was I going to pay for a pricey ambulance.
I got to the quack in the box Monday morning and confirmed the sprains.
Shifting gears wasn’t too bad. I never had to go over 25 to get home.
