First Responders More Equal Than Others
15 April 2020

Posted on 04/15/2020 3:59:03 PM PDT by rey

In certain counties, first responders (police) are allowed to enter stores before others and make their purchases without any rationing. As Orwell wrote, some pigs are more equal.

Everyone should have to live under the same rules, ESPECIALLY THE POLICE. To allow them special privileges and to escape the inconveniences associated with this lockdown is disgusting. Law enforcement must understand what it is like to live like those they have power over. To allow them special privilege is license for abuse and makes them more inclined to enforce laws that have no impact on them what so ever. . It smacks of the Stanford Experiment. It is a technique that was used to enable the Stasi to be so abusive toward those they over saw.

Add to it that local government is allowing ranking health officials to make law dictating what is jail able and what is not. Here, in CA, they are releasing prisoners and threatening to jail people who do not wear masks.

The people enforcing the law have little if any regard for the constitution they swore to uphold and defend. I cannot count how many have told me they are simply doing what they are told to do.

CA is talking about masks for a year. A friend who works in law enforcement in another state says he heard masks possibly until mid 2022.

END THE LOCKDOWN NOW!

As far as I know, the LEO have the same limits as other shoppers, they just have the preferential shopping times, which also happens to be the seniors and pregnant lady hours.

Which means you just have a lot of nice first responders lifting and reaching stuff for old people and gravid women.

Seems kind of sneaky of the store, if you ask me.

That is not what a good leader does. When I made NCO I made certain I was always last, always, even if it meant doing without. That is what a good leader does. It is one of the ways that a leader garners respect. People who avail themselves of special privileges are not leaders and lose respect.

> It is bad for a cop’s psyche <

That is an excellent point. When you start treating a class of people like privileged royalty, they start acting like privileged royalty.

I feel your pain. Now shut up and do your job... You signed up for it, quit if you don’t like it, but be a man and do your job without complaining.

Thank you for all you do...
I am a physician (critical care)
when this started and the local grocery stores were curtailing their hours AND there were runs on supplies, I was due in the hospital at 7 AM and done at 7 PM. Thus, I never had an opportunity to shop expect for the last 15 minutes of the day when there was nothing in the store.

it is completely amazing how people will S*** on the people that they need (front line providers, LEO, and others) in the most selfish of ways. Yes there are bad cops, and bad doctors, and bad everything else, but the responses of the cop haters are beyond unreasonable.

It sounds as if you are in health care, but in whatever you are, thanks for your service and for all you do!

I have three women in my family who are nurses and first responders. Two of them are front-line isolation nurses who work directly with COVID and other highly infectious disease patients. One of these nurses is my daughter. She has been working 12-1/2 hours a day, 7 days/week for over a month now. She and the police first responders are working their a$$es off right now to make sure you, your relatives, or someone you know doesn’t die. So yeah, when she goes to Walmart, she goes to the front of the line with a standing ovation from the other customers.

Seriously — because of the shortened days that places are open, how dare you. Instead of telling someone to man up and do his job, why dont you excuse yourself from ever calling on physicians, nurses or police when you need it.

Jackass.

Officers in the military are last in line after the troops. Today’s cops and fire fighters think their job entitles then then to special privileges.,

okay, its not right for special privileges....

but you do realize they are not sitting home collecting paychecks like other govt workers....they are not taking little vacations with pay....

they are actually DOING something....

compare that to your typical bureaucrat....

some people are essential...cops, firemen, nurses, docs,etc....

wouldn't it be a little bit fairer for those that continue to work on the front lines be given a little bit of an advantage?....

She’s selfish. No respect for her.

I have had my stepdaughter who is a redcom dispatcher offer to get us stuff with her privilege. I declined.

Nothing that millions of your fellow citizens haven’t done themselves during their working lives.

With all due respect rey, I know some law enforcement officers. They don’t have time for themselves or their families. Give them a break.

Yeah. They are actually doing something. They are not enforcing anything but the most serious felonies and then releasing them because there is no court. They are threatening to jail me violating orders that a health official enacted. Call me silly, but I think that is above the station of a health official. Laws are enacted by our legislature and they need be constitutional.

Part of the inner party securing control over their armed protective forces to use against the rest of us.

The security forces think they will be okay but it never turns out that way in the long run.

I am a former Marine. I am aCalFire contract dozer operator. I know what risk is. I never take privilege. These people are lousy. selfish, ineffectual leaders that do not understand that respect is earned and nor=t merely garnered n=by rank.I take exception to their behavior because it leads to tyranny.

My son in law ran into a burning building last night. He went through the second floor making sure he got everyone out.

Me? I watched a movie.

I think he serves something a little extra. My daughters house smells like smoke after he came home.
