Sorry to hear. Falls are often the beginning of the downhill slide for so many. My and husbands grandmothers both started downhill after a fall. I have been s SO careful with my FIL here, but at the same time trying to make sure he enjoys his life. He really likes to walk our energetic goldendoodle when hes here, and weighing the benefit of the walk and fresh air with the fact my doodle may knock him down is a choice we have to make. The walks do wonders for his brain function. Sugar is another sticky point. Hes 80+ years old and lost his wife of 54 years last year. Do we try and get him away from sugar, knowing it will prolong his life or let him enjoy the few vices he has? For now we try to fall somewhere in the middle, let him enjoy all these things he wants, while letting him know they could hurt him in the long run. Mostly, at this point, he doesnt care about the long run. I probably wouldnt either 😉

After seeing my grandfather suffer with Alzheimer's, increasing dementia is one of the worst ways to end life. By all means let him enjoy the few vices he has, in the days he has left. :)
May God watch over you, and yours.
