I would post just the graphs but cannot figure it out
Both countries curves of deaths per million of population overlay almost exactly over time. Both curves are are trending to flatten out at 200 deaths per million , that's a little over 60,000 in USA... way off from the hysterical 2 million, and Sweden with NO business restrictions shows the same rate of deaths per day normalized to population as USA , way different than the narrative that we must end capitalism and dress in burkas the rest of our life's to be safe.
For more informative data, it would be worth noting the population density of Stockholm versus New York City. In fact, the population of Sweden compared to the population of NYC is an eye opener. It is like comparing sugar beets to big apples.
Native Swedes are not like us. When their government says try working from home, they work from home. When their government says maintain social distancing, they maintain social distancing. The government doesn’t have to lock things down because the Swedes follow what government tells them. It’s their nature.
Thank you! Many of us here said it would not be end of the world, and we were thoroughly trashed. Even a few days ago.
We were right. They were wrong. We shut the country down needlessly.
Fauci lied, again. And convinced Trump to buy into it. Maybe he’ll finally realized he’s got incompetents in charge.
Why is no one looking at overall mortality? We know death cause coding is confounding CV-19 with comorbidities that last year were reported without CV-19 in the picture.
So we have no idea of the “delta” from CV-19.
Here’s the point by way of example.
2019 Jan-Mar Deaths from Flu, Pneumonia, COPD and CHF were ( let’s say ) 80,000 and 0 from CV-19
2020 Jan-Mar Deaths from Flu, Pneumonia, COPD and CHF were ( let’s say ) 60,000 and 20,000 from CV-19
Can we draw any inferences from that?
As for Sweden, their numbers are worse than ours, per Worldometer:US: 69 deaths per million; Sweden: 91 deaths per million US: 36 serious or critical per million; Sweden 86 serious or critical per million
Although we lead in cases per million (1,705 vs. 1,084), weve also tested 60% more people per million. But Sweden is likely to have less cases proportionately due to our more congested cities.

People have been working around dangerous pathogens everyday for decades. They are able to do so because they take the necessary steps to prevent infecting themselves, such as wearing appropriate PPE, observing proper hygiene including scrubbing, and showering before and after certain tasks.
There are yet many steps we could take in this country to slow the spread of corona and at the same time restart the economy. A requirement for PPE, regular testing, hygiene education, and enhancing our immune systems are key.
As for Sweden's success, now isn't the time to declare victory. Sweden's numbers are all over the place.
I divide up the data I have on Sweden which starts at 18 March and continues to the present time (26 days):
First 13 days:
Number new cases: 2,816
Number new deaths: 132
Last 13 days:
Number new cases: 6,455
Number new deaths: 753
I came up with a metric I use to score how well a country or state or locale is doing in the battle. It' simply new deaths per day divided by total deaths. I call it the daily fatality index. The plot below demonstrates Sweden's wild numbers. I don't know why Sweden's number vary so greatly. I hope they stay near the bottom, where they are now. I also hope we give Sweden a few more days before we shuck everything we're doing and follow Sweden. And let's remember the Swedish government did ban gatherings of more than 50, back in March. Maybe there are scientific reasons for that particular number?
What if the Chinese did their ‘usual’ and put out a crap product... and only the ‘first’ victim gets the full virus load. George Stephanopoulos got the virus from his wife. She was VERY sick - he had a mild case. Maybe he can only pass on the mild version? It would explain the pattern of spread - mostly major airports and interstates...
