WEAVERVILLE, Calif A Weaverville couple decided to continue with their wedding plans creatively and safely during the coronavirus pandemic by choosing to ditch the traditional wedding gown and go for different attire.
Stephanie and Thomas Barnes of Weaverville said they originally had plans to get married in Vegas with the family and friends attending the wedding. However, those plans changed due to the pandemic therefore they chose to get married in a less populated place in the woods.
"We picked this April 1. Thats the date that we wanted and the week before, we just were like, lets just do it anyways and we drove around Trinity County and looked for a spot and we decided on that location because it was super mossy," Stephanie said.
Both the bride and groom decided to wear gas masks while their family and friends wore dust safety suits on their wedding day.
Thomas already had a gas mask so he contacted one of his friends and got the other one. And then his friend reached out to him because we invited them and said that they had dust suits and so, it kind of just got thrown together in a week, Stephanie said.
Overall, the newlywed couple said the wedding photos turned out better than expected.
I love them, Thomas said.
I do too. I cannot wait to be able to print them off and put them around the house, Stephanie said.
The happy couple said they will spend their honeymoon at home together.
I guess some military surplus store should have gas masks...
Oughta make for an interesting honeymoon.
Monty Python or The Goodies type material for gas masks at a ceremony.
Damn, beat me to it again! Six feet away...?
'Tards shouldn't be allowed to breed !
Wonder what their wedding night sounded like.
“Mmmph! Mmmph! Mmmph! Mmmph! MMMMMPH!!!”
“Ohh Ytthh! Ytthh! Ytthh! Ytthh! OGLMMMPH!!!!”
(Darth Vader-like sounds of heavy filtered breathing)
But .... the mouth to mouth contact is superseded by the cock to **** contact ... ! !
People have a misconception of what cheap paper and homemade fabric masks are for. They primarily help keep the airborne particles from your mouth and nose from traveling as far especially when you cough and sneeze. They basically do very little to filter out the coronavirus particles that you are breathing in.
Active virus particles are similar in size to the particles in tobacco or marijuana smoke. Most of the scent you smell in smoke is from the small particles not the CO2, CO, and trace gasses. If you are standing next to someone who is smoking and your mask isn't reducing the smell then your mask isn't filtering out virus particles very well.
I assume “gas mask” you are referring to is a filter mask with a full face shield, depending on the filter or filters being used with it they will reduce the odors from smoke, they won't stop the actual gasses but they can filter out virus sized particles. So as stupid as it sounds and actually is to be running around outside with one on all day... the person that you saw is actually getting the last laugh on the people wearing cheap paper and homemade masks as far as the level of actual protection they are receiving. I think it is funny to see people wearing masks while they are doing things outside, and driving alone in their cars because the danger of transmission is very low and the masks they are typically wearing are offering them almost no protection against a virus.
Oh and you can buy them as military surplus, but they are also used for many agricultural, industrial, commercial and other tasks. They protect your eyes as well as your respiratory system. We had a variety of masks and filters that we used on the hazmat team that I was on for many years.
